ELEMENT III:
Mastery of the University Environment
Junior

A. Assume leadership positions

Last year you became involved in student organizations in a limited capacity, primarily for the purposes of understanding how your college or university operates, and developing professional and social networks.

Now, in your junior year, the leadership aspect of student organization involvement should take precedence. Ideally, you are now a well-connected upperclassmen with a 4.0 G.P.A.

This means that you are now a role model for those first generation freshman and sophomore students who seek guidance and mentorship. As a leader in your respective organization, your example can be indispensable in inspiring younger students to strive toward greatness and hopefully to follow in your footsteps toward graduate school.
