C. Do not be afraid to spread your wings A | B | C

Regardless of your academic performance thus far, you have made it through two years of college.

That is an achievement in and of itself. Assuredly, a good many of those in your freshman year cohort have not made it this far. They may have left the university because of financial trouble, academic problems, family issues or other personal reasons.

You, however, have been able to successfully negotiate those issues to make it to your junior year. Thus, even though you may not be exactly where you want to be personally or academically, you have made your family and friends proud simply by making it this far. You are an example to those who unfortunately were not able to attend college and who live vicariously through you. Congratulations!

Your accomplishments thus far should engender a certain confidence. Do not underestimate yourself. Do not be afraid to spread your wings and to take on new challenges.

An important part of growth is to seek out challenges that will test your abilities. As mentioned, complacency can be a huge hindrance to your overall success. Taking risks will allow you to determine the parameters of your skills and interests.

Sometimes you will succeed and sometimes you will fail. However, even failures are learning experiences which will allow you to discover new things about yourself. Although it can be easy to get caught in a comfort zone and put on the cruise control, resist the temptation and actively seek out opportunities that illuminate the depth and breadth of what you can accomplish.
