A. Engage in your annual personal assessment I

A personal assessment is always a good idea as a new school year approaches.

A G.P.A. of 3.5 or above shows that you are managing your time well and mastering your study skills. If you are in this range, congratulations, keep up the good work and keep striving for excellence. If you are not doing well in your coursework then you need to make some adjustments.

Never hesitate to visit your campus’ learning center or tutoring services. Meet with your advisor and your professors. Perhaps you are doing poorly only in certain classes and well in others. Perhaps your less than stellar performance occurred because you had little to no interest in courses outside of your major and thus paid little attention to them. Perhaps you had financial and/or familial issues that you could not resolve. You may have even experienced a loss of confidence or a feeling of isolation on campus. Whatever the reason, there are professionals at your university who are trained to help you find out what your problem areas are and to find solutions that will help you get back on track.

Although, your junior year is here, it is never too late to make a change and to improve your academic performance.
