ELEMENT II:
Mastery of Your Academic Future

Freshman

E. Study groups may help but are not for everyone

It might be advantageous to form a study group.

Study groups can be useful as moral support networks. It may also be helpful to have colleagues off of which you can bounce ideas. However, some students do not work well in groups and prefer to work alone.

The choice between working in a group or alone is a personal one. However, you should get to know at least one other student in the class, just in case you miss a class and need to borrow notes.

Exchange phone numbers and email addresses with this person.
